Come to the Oconee County Library this summer to learn, play, create, and be entertained! The Summer Reading Program 2012 begins Sunday, May 20 and ends Saturday, August 4. The children's theme for this year is "Dream Big, Read!" and this summer will be packed full with big events such as Flamenco dancing, puppet shows, a drumming class, storytelling concerts, and more.
This summer, the theme for teens at the library is "Own the Night." There will be plenty of night time activities for teens ages 11 through 18 including weekly movies, a glow art party, Frankentoys, and more.
Summer reading isn't just for kids, though. There will be plenty of exciting events for adults as well, with the theme "Between the Covers." Adults will have the opportunity to sample a Yoga class, learn about Athens history, see local authors, and work on grown-up craft projects.
There will be prizes for reading all summer long for all age groups.
