Pulaski Street art studios and businesses are opening their venues to the public to showcase Athens’ artwork from 5pm until 9pm on the first Saturday of October. The Pulaski Street Art Crawl will start at Pints and Paints in the Leathers Building. Enjoy art, live music, food and drinks along the crawl path. Music by Hawkproof Rooster and other local musicians. Theatrical performances by Circle Ensemble Theatre Company. Food graciously provided by The National, The Grit, and Pulaski Heights Barbeque. Art Crawl culminates downtown at ARTini’s Art Lounge for the Georgia Sculptors’ Society’s Exhibition juried by Todd Rivers of the Georgia Art Museum. Look for the black and white balloons! Eats and drinks along the crawl are free unless otherwise specified. Participating venues include ARTini's Art Lounge; Flicker Theatre and Bar; Pain & Wonder Tattoo; Ted's Most Best; Sunshine Cycles; Cine; Snow Tire; The Grit; Chastain, Jenkins and Leathers; Koons Environmental Design; Clarke County Citizens’ Advocacy; Drennon & Associates; Pints and Paints; artist studios of Mary Engel, Margo Rosenbaum, Ouida Williams, Maria Dondero, Chatham Murray, The Broad Street Painting Studios, and more. Maps will be available at ARTini’s Art Lounge and Pints and Paints the night of the art crawl. The 2012 Art Crawl is generously sponsored by the Athens’ Area Art Council, The National, The Grit and Pulaski Heights Barbeque. Athens Art Crawl Association is a not-for-profit group of local artists and business owners. Established in 2011, they provide opportunities for Athens artists, business owners, and patrons to come together and engage in cultural discourse while boosting Athens’ respective businesses and art community.
