"Global Health 2.0: The EGGs,”Michele Barry, a physician and global health expert, will talk about what she calls EGGs. egregarious gaps caused by globilization and about what can be done to close these gaps.Barry is a professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, is director of the Center for Global Health and a senior associate dean. As one of the co-founders of Yale/Stanford Johnson Global Health Scholar Program she has sent more than 1,000 physcians overseas to underserved areas to help strengthen health infrastructure in low resource settings. The Global Diseases: Voices from the Vanguard lecture series is a joint effort of Patricia Thomas, Knight Chair in Health and Medical Journalism at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and Dan Colley, professor of microbiology and director of UGA's Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases.
