Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is having all kinds of phone problems.
After blaming a dead battery for him oversleeping and ultimately making an early exit from the Manning Passing Academy, Manziel has been unable to connect with former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow tried to reach Manziel, but could not get through and had to leave a voicemail.
“Something happened,” Manziel said. “He called from a different number or something. Some miscommunication there. I haven’t talked to him personally… Haven’t been able to interact or talk to him on the phone. Got a voicemail from, him but really would like to get a chance to talk.”
Manziel believed Tebow, now with the New England Patriots, was trying to advise him on handling his recent off-field issues. To read more about Manziel’s missteps and controversial reputation, check The Post‘s sports homepage for a story on his appearance at SEC Media Days.
Tebow and Manziel have drastically different personalities, and Manziel is fine with that.
“I’m not Tebow,” he said. “Hopefully people just accept me for me.”
