Auburn opened as a 7.5-point favorite for its road game against Tennessee, according to Odds Shark. The Tigers and Volunteers meet at Neyland Stadium Saturday, Nov. 9 and will kick off at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
The Volunteers are coming off a 31-3 loss at the hands of No. 10 Missouri, and the Vols have lost five of seven since starting the season 2-0. The highlight so far in Year 1 under Butch Jones was a 23-21 home victory over then-No. 14 South Carolina on Oct. 19. That was also an 11 a.m. kickoff, so perhaps Auburn should beware.
Tennessee's scoring offense ranks 11th in the SEC, averaging 25.1 points per game. The Volunteers give up 29.4 points per contest, which ranks 10th in the conference. The Tigers should have an advantage when they have the ball. Auburn employs the top rushing offense in the conference, and the Vols allow 201.7 yards per game on the ground, which ranks last in the SEC.
