An Athens-Clarke County Magistrate sets bond at $50,000 for Wilson Heaton, the 22 year-old Cartersville man charged in last month’s hit-and-run on Oak Street in Athens: Heaton was allegedly drunk behind the wheel of the truck that struck and critically injured Emily Bowman. The 19 year-old Kennesaw State University student from Woodstock is still hospitalized at Athens Regional Medical Center. Heaton surrendered to Athens-Clarke County Police earlier this week.
