Today marks the start of a three-day candidate qualifying period: political hopefuls will sign up today, tomorrow, and Friday for spots on the July 31 Democratic and Republican primary ballots. Also qualifying: candidates for Athens-Clarke County’s non-partisan Commission elections, also to be held on July 31.
