The Mercy Health Center in Athens, the Athens-based East Georgia Red Cross, and the Ark of Jackson County will share in $35,000 in grant money from the Jefferson-based Jackson EMC Foundation. The Ark is a Jackson County community outreach effort involving area churches. The Mercy Health Center uses more than 600 area medical volunteers to provide medical care for low income uninsured patients.
