John Padgett says he wants to be the next chair of the Georgia Republican Party. The Athens-Clarke County Republican activist is seeking the seat being vacated by time-limited Sue Everhart. Georgia's next GOP leader will be chosen in the state Republican Party convention to be held in May at the Classic Center in Athens.
