Road projects set to start

By Tim Bryant

The Georgia DOT announces plans for projects in Oconee, Walton, Barrow, and Hall counties: the DOT says the Highway 78 bridge over the Apalachee River at the Oconee-Walton County line will be replaced. That $2.6 million project is expected to be wrapped up the middle of 2014. 3.3 miles of State Route 53 from the Jackson-Barrow County line to State Route 11 in Barrow County will get almost $800,000 worth of resurfacing in work that should be completed by the end of next October. And two resurfacing projects in Hall County will cost another $800,000, work on State Routes 53 and 369. Those Hall County jobs are also expected to be finished by October of 2013.
