The University of Georgia has renamed one of its leadership programs to honor a late, longtime administrator. UGa’s Leadership Academy, a yearlong training program in the University’s Office of Public Service and Outreach, has been renamed the Vivian Fisher Leadership Academy in recognition of the late associate vice president emeritus. Fisher retired from UGa after 2007, ending a tenure that began in 1979. She died in August of 2008.
