The funeral for former Madison County School Superintendent is set for 2 o’clock Saturday at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens. Perkins died earlier this week. Perkins spent 38 years in the Madison County school system, working as a teacher, principal, and coach, as well as Superintendent of Schools. His former basketball players will serve as honorary pallbearers for Saturday’s service.
