We have today the name of the Athens man who drowned last weekend in a pond in Jackson County: Robert Pittman was 51 years old. Jackson County EMS says he drowned when his boat capsized in a pond off Crooked Creek Road near Jefferson.

Drowning in Jackson Co

Authorities have not yet released the name of the man who drowned over the weekend in Jackson County: the 51 year-old man was apparently fishing in a pond off Crooked Creek Road when his boat capsized. His body was recovered by the Jackson County Dive Team.
