I'll say it again: Too bad Florida and Michigan didn't decide to have a replay primary, because it would certainly give us a furious finish to the Democratic Presidential race.
IInstead, a bunch of party officials will sit in a hotel ballroom in
Washington, D.C., trying figure out how to put the best face on this
delegate pothole.
Don't be surprised if you see pictures of angry demonstrators along with shouting and cheering by Obama and Clinton supporters.
They may make it look like a good story, but really, it's all over.
All over but the shouting, that is.
Clinton
really needed the full results from Michigan and Florida to go her
way. She won both states back in January (of course, remember that
Obama's name wasn't on the ballot in Michigan.)
If she had been getting the lion's share of superdelegates in recent weeks, this decision would be a very big deal.
Instead,
the Obama forces are in such a strong position that they are offering
Clinton a majority of delegates from those two states in order to wrap
this up.
They can do that because Clinton has only a thin mathematical chance of catching up.
If
a final result is reached this weekend, that would logically change the
delegate math a bit, because extra delegates would be put into the mix
from Florida and Michigan.
But in the end, it won't stop Obama from winning the Democratic nomination.
