9th District Run Off, Tea Parties and Spending

By Martha Zoller

Next week, we'll be interviewing each of the candidates in the 9th district run off election. Early voting is already under way,  We will talk to a candidate each day and then you can decide.  Don't forget that if there is a run off it will be 4 weeks later.  Then the primary is the following month and it's possible that a different person could win the nomination in the primary in July and then a possible runoff in August.  Are you confused yet?  I have asked the Governor to come on and explain the reason for the runoff timing, but haven't gotten him yet.

I am sick and tired of hearing the likes of Bill Maher and even the President talking about the Tea Partiers and misrepresenting what they stand for.  Yes, they want lower taxes, we all do.  Honestly, I don't oppose taxes, I oppose paying more in taxes when I am not convinced that the money I am already sending is being spent wisely. I work hard for the money I have, as do you. However, the Tax Day Tea Parties were about spending.  We have to cut spending by a third, zero based budgeting must be implemented and the FairTax must be passed.  We need radical change, alright.  Smaller government, lower taxes and individual responsibility.
