Royal was a good man. A husband, father and one of the nicest guys I've ever known. When my daughter, Suzanne, was about 9 or 10, Royal was on a panel at the State Capitol for kids who were in student government at their school. Suzanne got up to ask Royal a question. She stated her name and Royal asked her if she was "Martha Zoller's daughter." That can be a loaded question as when you are in the public eye like I am, sometimes people don't say nice things after they answer that question. Suzanne answered "yes" and then Royal said, "Your mom's a really smart woman." I will always love him for that. I am thankful, also, that I had 4 months when I came to Cox Radio and WXKT in 2009 last year to broadcast from WSB Atlanta. I got to see Royal every morning and I was able to tell him how much he meant to me and Suzanne.
Rest in Peace, Dear Royal and I wish for peace for his beautiful family at this unexplainable and difficult time.
