 9:45 Smartest Kids in the Nation, Local Student Qualifies to compete in the Intel Science Talent Search. The kids are competing for 630 K in prizes and the Grand Prize winner receives 100K. Out of those 40 students, 1 hails from the Atlanta area.

 Sitan Chen, Suwanee, GA; Northview High School – Sitan Chen, 17, studied a math problem in graph theory. Sitan found the previously unknown rank of a graph for a grid of width four, and improved known bounds for the ranks of other grids. His results and techniques, which can be applied to efficient circuit design, may improve the operation of everyday electronics in the future. A violinist and pianist, Sitan has performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

 10:30 Mr. Barry representing the Georgia Horseracing Coalition will be to discuss Horseracing efforts here in Georgia.

 11:30 Journey for the Arts. Dawsonville man, Allen Ferg, is hiking the Appalachian Trail for the Arts. We will talk with Kristen Cloud from the Dawson County Arts Council.
