Yesterday, we learned again why breaking news is so hard. A shooting at an Atlanta middle school. Some injuries, not fatalities, thank God. It could have been handled better. The timing of it happening close to the end of the school day, left parents waiting out in the cold--not knowing what was going on inside. One child was injured and another in custody. There were conflicting reports about a teacher hurt-not shot. We don't know all the details, but again. this child broke current law by bringing a gun to school. We need School Resource officers at every school.
Then the legislature is getting into gear with state legislators who hope to be federal legislators leading the way. Sen. John Albers is thinking about a run for Congrss if Tom Price runs for Senate. Are you tired yet. He'll join us to talk about his upcoming legislation. And, Minority Leader, Stacey Abrams will let us know what the legislative agenda is for Democrats under the Gold Dome.
It's the Super Bowl. Why do "reporters" ask dumb questions and why to players apologize? We'll look at it. It's finally Super Bowl weekend. Beyonce' wowed them with an accapella version of "The Star Spangled Banner." Then she took questions and explained why she sang to a prerecorded track. It was cold, she was late getting there and hadn't had time to rehearse. She was singing, just with a little help. Then the San Francisco 49ers have a player that "misspoke" about his views on homosexuality and then did an about face. He's being skewered in the press and I'm thinking San Francisco won't be his home for much longer. Then the dust up around Dan Marino. He had a relationship--can't believe 30 years after AIDS, he had unprotected sex, but that's another discussion for another day. He got this woman pregnant and by all accounts has been a stand up guy, taking care of his family, the child, the woman, being honest with his wife and mending the situation as best he can. He took an irresponsible act and did the responsible thing to fix an irresponsible thing...All good.
And the Kid--Kid President. love this and it will put a smile into your weekend. He quotes the poet, Robert Frost--Really.
