Zoller and Bryant: 3 Big Things You Need to Know Today: US Senate Musical Chairs, Georgia Executions, Rep. David Scott and Hearings on Cruise Ships

It's US Senate musical chairs since the announcement by Sen. Saxby Chambliss that he's not seeking re-election. The one indicator that this seat is in play from a Democrat perspective is the President is coming again in May to Atlanta.  Keep watching. Tim and I had some interesting conversations with potential candidates this weekend.  Jack Kingston was in Forsyth C0unty and in Clarke County.  He said he was in and talking to "family." Meaning the Republican clubs he talked to this weekend.  It's a money issue.  Once the announcement is made by another congressman--since Paul Broun is in--then it becomes a contested primary and many sources of money dry up.  Where will the Club for Growth go on this one?

There are two executions scheduled in Georgia this month and the libs and the international press are already talking about it. One in particular the left is hanging on to.  Wayne Lee Hill killed his girlfriend and then in 1990, while in prison, fashioned a weapon out of wood and nails and bludgeoned his cell mate to death.  This is an example I used on the campaign trail regarding gun regulation.  Mr. Hill was in prison, supposedly cut off by law from weapons of any kind, made one and then killed someone in the most heinous way imaginable. He deserves to die and he deserved to die 2o years ago.

And, leave it to Rep. David Scott to complicate things.  He wants to have congressional hearings on the Triumph Cruise Ship Debacle.  Is this really the role of Congress. Whether it's steriods in professional sports or something else, is this really a reason to have a Congressional Hearing.  Seems like a smoke screen to what they are not getting done up there.

Danica Patrick gets her first pole position in stock car racing.  I can look at this as a plus because she's the first woman and finally got the numbers to back up her fame.  But whether you think it's fair or not to single her out, she had the best time and beat everyone.
