Zoller and Bryant: 3 Big Things You Need to Know Today: Rep. Buzz Brockway and the 17th Amendment, The Birthday Tax--what replaces it, Sequester coming and the USDA is on a Sensitivity Meeting.

Rep. Buzz Brockway things we need to go back to appointed Senators.  And he's not alone. I wrote about it in my book, "Indivisible," Zell Miller proposed it when he was a Senator.  We'll talk about it. I believe we need to repeal the 16th and the 17th amendment.  The 16th to end income tax and then replace it with the FairTax and then the 17th to get back to appointment of U. S. Senators. Buzz is right and we'll hear what he has to say today.   Then, we'll talk about the USDA Sensitivity retreat.  The country is going over another fiscal cliff and the USDA spends $200,000 to tell their members, "The Pilgrims were illegal aliens."  Give me a break! Amazingly, some conservative pundits said this isn't a lot of money for a meeting like this.  The point is, we are broke.  The Sequester is coming and it's a 2.5% cut off of a baseline increase of 8 to 10%.  It's not a cut.  Is your head exploding yet?  We'll help you navigate through.  March 1 also, brings us the birthday tax replacement.  What does it mean for you and your car? Just like anything else the "devil is in the details"  or should I say, the implementation. There's also a "Welcome to Georgia Tax" where people will have to pay sales tax on the value of cars they bring into Georgia in a move.  For example, if you have 5 automobiles worth $100,000, then you pay $6500 to register those vehicles in Georgia.  You can split the payments 50/50 over 12 months. The real issue here is the effect on person to person sales and this tax reform will level the playing field between dealerships and private sales.  As with most big reforms, we won't know the unintended consequences until it's implemented.     For fun, Facebook gets a $400 million dollar tax refund.  How did that happen?  All legally, but do they pay their fairshare?  Listen live every weekday from 6 to 9 am est for Zoller and Bryant.  Like us on Facebook on 1340 WGAU and follow us on Twitter @timbonole, @wgaunews and @marthazoller  Having a little trouble with the shift key today, so I'll reboot after I post this and join us live every day.
