Zoller and Bryant: Legislative Update, Future of the Republican Party and Gun Policy.

They all will be big legislative days from today until about the middle of April.  Governor Deal says the Hotel/Motel tax is Atlanta's money, they can do with it what they want.  But is he right? I personally think this is brilliant.  The Governor appears to have effectively taken two hot button issues off the table.  Also, Democrats may be in a "Constitutional Minority," but are they going to roll over? Sen. Jason Carter (Democrat grandson of former President Jimmy Carter)  has lead an intitiative to have an agenda for Democrats in the Georgia Senate.  Additionally, the reports of the demise of the Tea Party are over rated.  Today, Governor Deal and his staff will be meeting with Tea Party leaders to review the state budget.

What is the future of the Republican Party, even though we have these "constitutional" majorities, can we keep them? Sen. Johnny Isakson is working throughout the state at GOP meetings to quell the concerns the party faithful have. Freedom Connector, the political arm of  Freedomworks, a Tea Party Group formerly headed by Dick Armey, is starting a movement to take state parties over from the inside. A grassroots call occured a couple of nights ago with activists from Cherokee and Cobb county.  I say bring it on.  I think this is a great development.

Finally, Gun policy will be unveiled today. Believe me, this agenda has been in a drawer waiting for the right moment to bring it out.  Do you actually believe that Health Care happened over night?  The left looks at Gun Control as the other Holy Grail next to Universal health care.  They won't give up so we shouldn't either.  I support the right to bear arms.  On the protection of children, banks have armed guards--and there are many more banks than there are schools.  Banks have radically reduced the number of armed robberies they have and the violence that occurs with the robbery and it's becasue anyone who wants to rob a bank know they will encounter and armed person.  We need to do that with our schools.

As we go out, the "All My Babies' Mamas" officially cancelled.  Is this a turning point in reality TV?  How far is too far?  We'll talk about it...;

From Debbie Dooley: The local people organizing this are from Cobb and Cherokee This is the web site Matt Kibbe of Freedom Works promoted on the conference call last night. http://rinostop.com/http://rinostop.com/Faq.aspx "We're just a group of voters in Cherokee and Cobb counties. Individual voters." Below is an account from someone on the call. Rebecca Fanny Yarbrough posted on Facebook Monday via mobile I just spent the last hour on a conference call hosted by FreedomWorks. Imagine my disappointment to find out that the call was educating people particularly from the Liberty Movement on how to takeover upcoming precinct and county conventions. Cherokee and Cobb Counties were highly represented. Not only were they represented but they have a website called rinostop.com to get organized. Smh and I thought this convention cycle would be boring. What was I thinking? Funny segment: 8:35 Baby Mama show cancelled...have reality shows gone too far...?
