Zoller and Bryant: Stadium Deal, Crossover Day, Filabuster Fallout?

By Martha Zoller

Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta announced the deal on a new Falcons Stadium.  Much better than the deal for the Georgia Dome, but what does it mean?  There's some money for infrastruction.  The City is on the hook for 200 million dollars instead of 300 million dollars and the Blank Family Foundation picks up the lion's share of the cost.  The interesting issue relates to Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and what kind of workers can get the jobs.  We'll talk about it.  All in all, a good deal for the City and for Mayor Reed.

What happened on Crossover Day--winners and losers.  I always look at this list of bills and wonder, why? Is this why we send our legislature to Atlanta?  I'd like to see a super short session one year.  Repeal the income tax, replace it with a sales tax and pass a budget.  Then the next year, repeal every irrelevant and outdated law on the books.  That's what I'm talking about.

And on the Federal side, Brennan confirmed for CIA, Sen. Paul gets what he wants from the White House on drones and attacks on Americans on American soil. Ironically,  "Lions of the Senate" like John McCain and Lindsay Graham (a cub, maybe)  complain.  They went to the dinner with the President.  Hooray to Sen. Saxby Chambliss, he can multitask and he did both.  Would he have helped with the filabuster if he was seeking re-election?  I think, yes!

Also, we are bring a terror suspect to Federal Court in NYC.  So, if he's not charged, will we let him go? This is a can of worms that the president has been itching to open.  The libs look at fighting terrorism as a law enforcement issue.  It's an assymetrical war.

Spent a little time in Oconee County with the Republican Women last night.  We'll talk about it. They are worried about educating our kids. I am, too and we'll talk about it.

And next week, Zoller and Bryant is expanding to a statewide network.  Call you local station and tell them you want Zoller and Bryant.
