Zoller & Bryant: The 3 Big Things You Need Today: Gold Dome Countdown, DeKalb County, Food Police

By Martha Zoller

Today, we'll talk about the final days under the Gold Dome for this session. Where art thou, ethics?  Charlie Harper writes about it on Peach Pundit.  Will there be ethics reform?  Where is the battle between the Tea Party and the Establishment going?  With the announcement that Karl Rove is coming to speak at the GAGOP convention, we are seeing the lines being drawn.  I'd like to see the budget passed, real tax reform including a repeal of the income tax and replacing it with sales tax and then go home.  But there will be more to talk about than that.  Tim and I will give you the background.

Then, you knew it was coming, and open application process for replacing DeKalb County Schools and groups cry racism.  The application process was open. Anyone could apply.  The Governor says find some good Black candidates to run.  That's the process and the Governor is right. But the question is, do you have to be the same race to represent someone?  Aren't we past that?

And The Food Police took a blow in NYC yesterday and got a win at Emory.  Yep, the food police.  Or I should say, the food court police.  A court said that Bloomberg can't limit your sugary drinks but he will appeal.  Look, we have a food choice problem, but it's not for the government to decide.  It's for you to decide. And at Emory, Chick-Fil-A is out in the food court.

And for fun, Sen. Marco Rubio has "got game."  We'll tell you about it. Sen. Marco Rubio on Hip Hop.  TMZ thought they were going to stump him, but it turns out, Sen. Rubio is cool.
