Zoller and Bryant: 3 Big Things Today: Budget Redux, Pope Francis, DeKalb SACS..And Tony Gonzalez is back!

Today we'll talk a little budget battle with the House and Senate having a bill and the President saying the debt is not that big, really?  Rep Phil Gingrey and Rep. Tom Price will join us.  We'll take a look at the new budget and Welfare Reform and what are small business people saying? They say they are afraid to invest in their business. Gingrey and Price may be opposing each other in the Senate race to replace Saxby Chambliss, too.  And Bob Barr has already announced in Gingrey's current seat. Whew, you can't follow without a scorecard and Zoller and Bryant will be your score card for 2014.

Then we'll look at the new Pope Francis. He is Francis the 1st but not until he dies, so just Francis for now.  He's 76, one lung--are we setting up for a line of retiring Popes?  And people on the street are surprised he's so---Catholic.  He opposes Communism, supports life and opposes same-sex marriage.  Is anyone really surprised by that?  I'm not and if you don't like what the Catholic Church stands for, don't be a Catholic.  I love the pomp and circumstance.  I grew up a Lutheran, compromised in marriage and am a Methodist now, but the roots of our Christain faith comes through the Catholic Church.

And the SACS Director says, "Whoa" to the Governor on DeKalb County Schools.  I say, "keep going."   DeKalb is one of the biggest school systems in Georgia, it matters how it's doing.  SACS, the accreditation agency, cannot on the one hand say we have you on suspension and then on the other hand say you are moving "too fast" to fix things.  I think there should be a sense of urgency.

Tony Gonzalez will come back to the Falcons for one more year.   Enough Said.  Super Bowl Bound!
