The Tea Party continues to be a topic of conversation. With Rand Paul winning the CPAC straw pol,l it will continue.  Matt Towery writes for Insider Advantage a warning to the Tea Party.  I was Tea Party before they called it Tea Party and am proud of Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, both Tea Party folks, being one and two in the CPAC straw poll. My view is we need to get back to "grassroots." and be about fiscal issues.  Hold the line on those but also realize that a step in the right direction is better than two steps back.  I support Paul Ryan's budget, but it doesn't go far enough.  We need a Rand Paul type of solution, $500 billion now in cuts and then roll it out to the future. 

Atlanta Stadium comes up for a vote today. Lots of accusations being made from those who oppose.  I didn't support this initially, but I think the Mayor and the Governor have made a very good deal for the state and for the city. With the Final Four coming to the Georgia Dome, wonder if there will be some technical problems to highlight the need for a new stadium?  After the power outage at the SuperDome, that's all the talk in New Orleans.  Might be the new way to get a point across. I'm just sayin'. 

Todd Rehm talked to Tim on Friday on the Georgia Legislature. What will be the unexpected issue be? I'm still not satisfied there's been enough discussion about mental health issues and how that relates to gun ownership.  Also, the Juvinile Justice reforms look very good and have gotten unanimous support to this point.  If the Governor can pull this off, then his legacy will be justice system reform and that will be good. Of course, you know what I want.  I want to see real tax reform with a repeal of the income tax and replace it with a sales tax.  I'm going to keep pushing, are you with me?

And for fun, Sugar Hill (and other cities around the country with "sugar" in them) is offered $4.7 million to change the name of its town to SugarDaddies.com.  They won't do it, but it would be fun.  Wonder what they'd give to a person or neighborhood that wanted to change their name?
