The U. S. Senate race to replace Saxby Chambliss is heating up, we've got the inside scoop. Rep. John Barrow seems to have cut a deal with the Democrat leadership to run for Senate. He's seeming very unhappy where he is and he's the only hope that Dems have in Georgia. We should not count him out. Rep. Kingston and Rep. Gingrey are moving closer to an announcement. The goal for all of these folks is to show a big number on March 31 FEC Quarterly reporting. Rep. Paul Broun, the only announced candidate is admittedly having trouble raising money. Rep. Tom Price will decide by mid April and he's a 50/50 chance at running or staying where he is. If he stays in the House, then Karen Handel runs. And what will Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle do?
Then, the legislature has just a few more days and fireworks, real and issue oriented are on the table. Ethics, Safe Carry, Driver's Licenses, Common Core and Constitutional Conventions. We'll talka about them all.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is having a meeting and they are talking about fracking. On the surface they looked like they were including all points of view, but that changed earlier this week. We need all forms of energy and we need to start telling the truth. Coal is not bad, Fracking will make energy cheaper and help low income people afford energy. I'm all in on all forms of energy. The US burns and uses all of these souces the cleanest and the best. We should be using them.
And the Bible miniseries continues to break viewing records. There's some controversy about the devil in the series. Was he made to look like President Obama? We'll talk about it.
Finally, someday we will be talking about Ben Carson again, an interesting take on him and the other men who may run for in 2016. Some folks are saying they are tired of Dr. Ben Carson already. But what is so interesting about his rise to fame is, right now, the three people being talked about the most for 2016 are more Libertarian Republicans. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida and Dr. Ben Carson of Maryland. Wouldn't it be weird if the Republicans were not talking about social issues in 2016 and the Democrats are? Democrats are setting up Same Sex Marriage as being the wedge issue for them in 2014. Marriage Equality groups are buying time on Fox News Channel and just the appearance of one of their ads created an big discussion last night between me, my husband and my 21 and 30 year old children who happened to be home. It wasn't planned, it was spontaneous and it highlighted the divide between young and old. The Twenty and Thirty-somethings don't car about this. They say live and love and let live. They don't believe the state should discriminate.
