My dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, yes, Brooklyn Dodgers. He never got over the move to Los Angeles. But when the Milwaukee Braves moved to Atlanta, he thought it was his duty as a guy in Atlanta to buy tickets if he could afford them, and he did. If you remember, the Braves weren’t very good back then. He couldn’t get any of his buddies to go with him, so being the last kid at home, I got to go. My dad nurtured my love of sports by taking me to Braves home games and Falcons home games at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. It was a great time for the next 15 years until he was unable to make the trek for every game. I kept the box scores and read about the players and spent hours with my Dad.
